Get that Korean glass skin with Bellezza Aesthetics | REVIEW

If you are a fellow beauty enthusiast, you would be familiar with (and probably obsessed over) the term "Korean glass skin". When you watch Korean dramas or music videos, you cannot help but notice just how dewy and perfect these K-Celebs' skin look, as if all of them are unfairly blessed with good genes. While this glassy look can be achieved with makeup, there is no better base than glassy skin itself. As such, when Bellezza Aesthetics asked me if I wanted to try out their Triple Glow Facial, a beauty treatment popular amongst Koreans, I couldn't say no! I mean, who can say no to glowy skin?

Centrally located in the heart of Singapore, Bellezza Aesthetics boasts an elegant interior that makes one feel like a princess instantly upon entering the boutique. The posh facade, accompanied by professional-looking staff in their pin-up buns and soothing classical music in the background, created a pleasant first impression. I kind of already knew then that I was in for a treat — and boy, was I right.

As with most facial salons that you visit for the first time, I was ushered to the consultation room to fill up a form while being served a cup of tea.

Once I completed the form, finished my tea, and headed to the washroom (which is located outside of the boutique), it was time for me to pretend like I'm a Korean celeb getting a Korean skin treatment. :P

Triple Glow Facial

As mentioned earlier, I tried out the Triple Glow Facial, which is a newly launched 75-minute beauty treatment by Bellezza Aesthetics. The name "Triple Glow" stems from the 3 comprehensive treatments this facial consists of — Glow Peel, Oxygen Infusion and Cryo 3D Face Tightening. This particular facial aims to treat the following skin concerns: pores, pimples, pigmentation, dullness, dryness, and tired, sagging skin. Basically, it is suitable for all skin types, even for those with sensitive, blemish-prone skin like me (yay!).

The facial started off with some deep breathing of lavender essential oil to calm and relax the mind.

Next were a couple facial basics — removal of makeup and cleansing of face. Then, it was time for the first of 3 treatments:

Glow Peel

Glow Peel is a unique aesthetics peel from Korea that helps to boost radiance, increase cell growth and rejuvenate the appearance of the skin. As it is a gentle, non-acidic and non-irritating exfoliation with no downtime, it is suitable for even (and especially) sensitive skin.

Benefits:
  • Smoothen the outer texture of skin
  • Even up skin tone
  • Lighten and brighten skin
  • Firm and tone skin
  • Increase and strengthen skin integrity
  • Minimise enlarged pores
  • Diminish fine lines
  • Reduce sebaceous activity
  • Improve acne condition

The facial extraction was done after the peel was wiped off. My aesthetician, Vivien, did a thorough job on the extraction. I have not gone for a facial in a really long time due to my hectic schedule, and my skin has accumulated a lot of dirt and debris underneath my pores. Vivien took the time to extract most, if not all, of them out.

Second treatment:
Oxygen Infusion

Oxygen Infusion replenishes the levels of oxygen in the skin, delivers oxygen to the deepest layers of the skin, resulting in glowy and radiant skin.

Benefits:
  • Nourish skin and boosts collagen growth
  • Detoxify skin
  • Restore youthful, plumped skin

I was told not to take photos of the machine, but it is basically a pen-like equipment that sprays very fine oxygen mists into the skin. It was really soothing and relaxing, like a facial mist being sprayed constantly to your skin.

Before commencing on the third and final treatment, this was when a heavenly face and shoulder massage awaited.

I am a fan of massages, especially face massages, and I can tell whether or not an aesthetician knows what she is doing. Vivien's skills are undoubtable. She knew exactly where all my lymph nodes are, like second nature, and even managed to press out the tense knots on my (very) stiff shoulders.

Third treatment:
Cryo 3D Face Tightening
Applying an in-house cocktail serum to the skin before starting the third treatment

Cryo 3D Face Tightening uses a face contouring equipment with a cold metal surface to tighten the skin as well as improve blood circulation. Coupled with Bellezza Aesthetics's in-house 8 Growth Factor Active Cocktail Serum filled with anti-oxidants, this treatment smoothens fine lines, restores the skin's firmness and lifts the skin in just one session.

Benefits:
  • Tighter 3D face contour
  • Stimulate collagen production through the increase in microcirculation and cocktail serum
  • Restore firmness and radiance
  • Tighten pores
  • Reduces acne
  • Improve blood circulation

This equipment was so cold and my sensitive skin loved it. Vivien mentioned that the temperature of the equipment can be adjusted, so fret not if you think it's too cold for you as it can be made warmer.

Anyway, speaking of their in-house serum, it is worth mentioning that Bellezza Aesthetics uses their own line of products. The products used varies with each customer as they are customised according to one's skin type.

The Triple Glow Facial ends off with a customised mask. Mine was a soothing lavender mask.

Results
Top: Before | Bottom: After

All in all, I had a really wonderful experience with Bellezza Aesthetics, and I would say Vivien's service and skills played a big part. My skin also stayed radiant and hydrated for the next week, so it was not just a one-day glow kind of effect. If given the chance, I would love to go back again!

One word: Bliss

Fuss-free mailing with SmartPac

Hi all! It has been quite awhile, hasn't it? I haven't had time to dabble into makeup and skincare for the past few months, and that's because I've been so busy running my own little online business selling accessories and phone casings! My life right now is all about ordering, selling, stock-taking, mailing, and the most tedious part of it all... packing.

I can spend hours just packing my customers' orders, and sometimes when customers choose to go by registered mail as it's a much safer option to normal mail, I can queue up to 45 minutes at the post office near my place just because there are so many people. But luckily, there's SmartPac! For those of you who are always shopping online and opting for registered mail for fear of lost mail, let me share with you about SmartPac, which is a cheaper (and more convenient) alternative!

So what is SmartPac?

Target the source of oily skin: Introducing the new Bioderma Sebium Lotion & Mat Control | REVIEW

I've always known Bioderma for their micellar water  it was the first cleansing water that I ever chanced upon and used since those "makeup wipes" days, and I never looked back! I can't count with my fingers how many bottles I've purchased since then. Having said that, I'm not sure why it has never occurred to me to try their skincare products despite knowing they're out there in the market whenever I stop by at Guardian. Hence, when I was introduced to the brand's new products from their existing Sebium line, which is a range that caters to oily skin (a.k.a me), I knew it was time to give Bioderma's skincare products a try.

The Bioderma Sebium range is launching two new oil-fighting products: Sebium Lotion and Sebium Mat Control. This particular range targets the source of oily skin by biologically regulating the quality of skin’s sebum.
